Monday-
Title 9- started equal pay for women. If you had a boys sport then you had to have an equivilent for the girls to play.
Tuesday-
Presentations
Brown vs. board of education- started to desegregate schools. Rosa Parks stayed in her seat on the bus. Bus boycott. Nine Black kids went to school, national guard had to escort them. They got rid of the poll tax, and the literacy test.
Wednesday-

Thursday-
In the 70's African American people had huge steps. They were more educated. In the 80's there was lots of African people being mayors. In the 90's there were more leaders that were African, Bill Clinton also apoligized for the passed treatment.

Monday-
Korean War started on June 25th, 1950. First cold war action since the cold war. South Korea wanted to unite the country. North Korea was communist, South Korea did not support communist.
North was supported by the USSR,
Causes of the Korean War- we withdrew ourselves from Korea, and then we had to put more back in there. Both sides wanted to unite the country.
Protest about Vietnam- Anti-war groups before 1965, they burned draft cards, in October of 1967 people were beat in a police riot in Chicago.
DMZ- territorial line that splits North and South Korea, troops face each other.
There are still 20 million soldiers there, they became a nuclear power in 2008-2018. The US and North Korea are talking about denuclearization.
Tuesday-
Pre Vietnam War- Vietnam was a fench colony, it was taken over by Japan in WWII, America wanted to get rid of Japan in Vietnam. Started in 1954-1975. The war was in Vietnam, Loas, Cambodia.
The US lost 100 soldiers per week.
Vietnamization- The US wanted to pull our troops out, and let the vietnamese fight it out.
What made Vietnam unpopular, Tet Offensive- Vietnam was stock piling weapons in the cities so they could attack on a certain day,
Pentagon Papers- Nixons office was broken into and they found these papers and it basically took back everything the governemnt said, they were lying to us.
Injuring/killing innocent people- manny children elderly and women were killed because we couldn't tell who was the enemy and who was friendly
Supporting a bad government in South- the leader did not have the peoples support
Napalm Attack- used to kill people many people saw this and thought why are we killing children.
Power of the press- they showed what really happened.
Kent St. students were protesting, and they threw rocks at the guards, and the guards opened fire.
