- started with the deployment of military advisors to the South Vietnamese army

- the started using special forces (Green Berets) for commando-style operations

- congress gave president Johnson the power to wage war

- only two people voted against it

- after that troop number went up tremendously 

- enemies north vietnamese, communists in the south

- people started questioning why the US fought there

- government leaked information and was printed by the papers

- government said that they tried manipulating people and lied to people so they started getting upset and turned completely against the war

Anti war people

- went to Canada or Sweden

- claimed to be homosexuel

Nixon and Vietnam 

- Nixon called for the vietnamization of the war

- peace with honor 

- gradually pull US troops out and train the ARVN to take our place in fighting 

- North and south Vietnam had to accept each other independence 

- a few years after that the north invaded the south and got communist
