MON:

I took Day 1 of the test 

Italy 

- Germany still had control of Italy even after the allied conquest

- Mussolini was hanged in 1945

Reasons why Italy lost

- they were not prepared to fight in a war for so long

- Germnay always had to help them out

- they had troops all over 

- they spread themselves too thin

- People in Italy didn't want to fight; they were forced to fight

- Italy was very weak 

Mussolini was jealous of Germany

Impact WWII had on Italy

- 410 000 - 330 000 military deaths

- spent 94 billion

- Italy joined the allies in 1943 to make sure they wouldn't turn to communism

- US gave millions of Dollars to Italy to help rebuild after the war

- Became a member of NATO in 1949

- Became a member of the United Nations

- Hitler wanted air superiority over Royal Air Forces and Britain

- Luftwaffe targets RAF airfields and raids cities

- nighttime bombing

Great Britains role in WW2

- appeasement at Munich 

- Declared war on Germany on September 3, 1939 after the german invasion of poland

- last allied country still standing

- battle of britain - we shall never surrender

- GB served as a base for US and free french forces

- D-Day invasion starting point

- received the most lend-lease aid from world

-lost the "most powerful country in the word" status after WW2
