Legalization of Marijuana

Why legalize?

It would help police officers, allowing them to focus more on much more serious crimes.

Many scientists say it isn’t as bad as cigarettes and it would actually help with many medical conditions.

Why keep it illegal?

It’s unhealthy and could eventually become addictive.

Why legalize it for medicinal use?

Opioids are far more addictive and harmful than marijuana.

Legalization of Marijuana

  • Many from both parties still oppose the legalization of marijuana for recreational use

  • Democrats would be more likely to support it

Many believe it’s simply a plant that can’t be as bad as man made medicine.

What % of people in the US smoke pot?

  • In 2011, more than 18 million Americans aged 12 and older reported using the drug within the past month.
