In 2011, more than 18 million Americans aged 12 and older reported using the drug within the past month
That's about 7%- depends on how many people are telling the truth or not
Wednesday: Took the class quiz over South east Asia and Australia and continued with the power point
Marijuana-
Anyone over 21 can buy legal pot in Colorado, Washington, and Oregon
Can’t smoke weed in public
Can be fired for smoking it
Can be sold on the black market
Lots of marijuana shops can’t get bank accounts because it’s illegal in most states
Alcohol had a higher addiction rate than marijuana
Marijuana is schedule 1 substance for DEA- highest abuse rate category because of the lack of knowledge about the drug
Is it more or less addictive than alcohol?
Marijuana is less addictive than tobacco and alcohol, but still addictive
Leads to withdrawal symptoms
Can help people with medical reasons

Marijuana for casual use is subject to abuse like alcohol and should be treated as a public health issue

Flag Burning
Democrat- Is considered political speech and is protected by the 1st amendment
Republicans- Protect the flag from burning by a constitutional 1st amendment
Thursday: We took the Asia map test
Friday: We started working on the Canada Map and went over current events (Internet search history and app usage can be leaked in order for companies to show ads, Donald Trump fired Michael Flynn- security advisor) and continued going over the power point.
Prayer in School
Democrats: Oppose- violation of the separation between church and state- doesn’t uphold freedom of religion if we have school sponsored prayer
Republicans: Favor- it is a religious right and our Christian heritage
Prayer in School- declared unconstitutional in 1962 in the case Engel vs. Vitale
