Democrat- favor gay rights and gay marriage
Republican- Oppose say that marriage is a sacred bond between a man and a woman- many consider it a sin, No procreation
June 26, 2015 same-sex marriage is legal in all 50 states
Obergefell v Hodges- supreme court held a 5-4 decision- the right to marry is guaranteed to same-sex couples
Decision was based on Due Process Clause and Equal Protection Clause- 14th Amendment
