Monday - No School 

Tuesday - "Pink Collared" Jobs - Gave women a taste of the work world, Low paying service occupations, Made less money than men did doing the same jobs (Jobs: Secretaries, Teachers, Telephone Operators, Nurses) 

Actors/Athletes - Al Jolson, Marx Brothers, Harry Houdini, Gene Tunney, Babe Ruth, Bobby Jones, Dempsey, F. Scott Fitzgerald

The Harlem Renaissance - Means "Reborn" - Reborn of the black culture 

W.E.B Dubois - Black spokesperson 

James Weldon Johnson - Founder of NAACP 

Marcus Garvey - Promoted blacks 

The Cotton Club - Like a speakeasy for white people. 

Wednesday - Key Topics - Red Scare (fear that the U.S was going to fall into communism), Immigration, Republican Philosophy (Low taxes, high tariffs and less government, Lower immigration, Trickle-down theory, Laissez-faire, "Normalcy", Rugged individualism- work hard), Impact of Automobiles and Airplanes, Womens Rights, Prohibition, Entertainment, Harlem Renaissance (African-American culture was being reborn with jazz music, art, literature; Be proud to be black) , What made the 1920's "roaring"? (Economy, Stock prices were rising, entertainment, dances) 

Thursday - Test Day 

Friday - The stock market crashed in 1929 

FDR's New Deal Programs - "Fresh start" Relief for the needy, Economic recovery, Financial reform
