Monday - Bonus Expeditionary Force - Dough Boys - Wanted early bonus. Congress decides to wait till 1945. Many were mad. 

FDR'S Brain Trust - Nicknamed advisors (Smart people) 

- Frances Perkins - Sec. of Labor and first female in the cabinet 

Fireside Chats - Radio addresses to the people 

Defcit Spending - Spending more money than you take in 

Tuesday - 

FARMERS 

 Rural Electrification Administration - Gave light, power and electricity to cities. Gave farmers more jobs. 

UNEMPLOYED 

Works Progress Administration - Put people to work, gave more jobs. Ended because the unemployment of it was less than 2 percent 

Federal Project Number 1 - Employed writers that didn't have jobs, Gave employment to musicians, Painters and sculpters could work their art 

Public Works Administration - Awarded big projects, Highways, airports, dams, irrigation, Under the control of government, Not around today 

 FACTORY WORKERS 

National Labor Relations Act - Protect rights of employees and employers. Gave employees more control and a voice(labor unions)

BANKING 

Reconstruction Finance Coorperation - Provide financial support to state and local governments, Create jobs - "trickle down", Restore country's confidence and stability in banking system. Provided loans from public money to railroads, banks and agriculture 

YOUNG PEOPLE 
Civilian Conservation Corps - Give people aged 18-25 more jobs, Hired them to plant trees, fight forest fires and build dams, Ended because of WWll 

National Youth Administration - Gave jobs to young people (building maintenance, landscaping and forestry), Young people got more opportunities 

HOMEOWNERS 

United States Housing Authority - Clearing slums to build urban housing, Building low cost homes

Wednesday - 

UNEMPLOYED 

Civil Works Administration - Creates manual labor jobs during the winter, Accomplised 44,000 miles of new roads, 1,000 miles of new or improved airports, Ended then brought back 

BANKING 

Emergency Banking Relief Act - Restore public confidence in the nation's financial system, Banking Holiday - Banking transactions were suspended across the nation except for making change

FARMING  

Farm Security Administration - To fight rural poverty, Help poor farmers, Help those affected by the dust bowl, Moved 7,530 people to farms, Hired photographers to bring awareness to the poverty and poorness of the farmers, Granted small farmers and tenant farmers money to purschase farms 

Thursday - 

HOME OWNERS

Home Owners Loan Corporation - Refinanced homes mortages that were in risk during the depression, Loans applied to homes that didn't house more than 4 people, non-farming residents, not worth more than $20,000, Provided funds to pay off mortages

FARMERS 
Soil Conservation and Domestic Allotment Act - Pay farmers to reduce production, Conserve soil, prevent erosion, assure adequate supplies of food, Not around today

Dust Bowl - Causes from farming, lack of water, heavy winds and lack of trees, Spread throughout the midwest, No crops could grow, Caused deaths, No water, Almost impossible to live there, Okies fled from Oklahoma to other states to find work, Locust and jack rabbits came from nowhere and ate whatever crops could grow, It ended from rain, soil conservation, farming practices 

NATIVE AMERICANS 
Indian Reorganization Act - Replace the Dawes Act (Americanize the Native Americans), Regain trust, Reorganized tribal governments, Prohibited lands from being taken away, Gave Indians self-government 

CONSUMERS 
Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act - Restrictions of what drugs could be sold, Safety, Determined if certain food and cosmetics could be used, Labeling 

STOCK MARKETS 
Securities and Exchange Commision - Regulated stock markets, Protects investors, Maintains fair, orderly, efficient markets, Restore confidence in financial markets 

Friday - 

ELDERLY 

Social Security Administration - Start paying for social security when employed, Recieve benefits, Source of income, Helped retired people, A way to get money 

STOCK MARKET 

The Federal Securities Act - regulation of stock market, ensure more transparency in financial statements, Establish laws against misrepresentation and fraudulent activities in the markets, Provide complete info on all stock offerings, Tell the truth about how much the business was worth

FARMERS 
Tennessee Valley Authority - Build hydroelectric dams around the area to bring electricity to thousands of homes and to prevent flooding, Promoted the use of fertilizers and crop rotation, Improve fish/wildlife and wildfires
