Monday- Mr. Bruns introduced himself and the class introduced themselves. We also signed up for Mr. Bruns' website.
Tuesday- Mr. Bruns went over classroom rules and regulations.
Wednesday- Mr. Bruns explained digital citizenship, The Cyclone Way, Weekly Blogs, and Forum Posts.
Thursday- Mr. Bruns talked about extra credit opportunities, students took "Continents and Oceans" test, students took an introduction quiz.
Friday- Students decided the order of map tests (Canada, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the United States and Capitals), talked about Current Events:
- Most popular baby names in Great Britain and America
- The new I Phone coming out on September 9th
- Verizon changing policies
- Donald Trump's hair (is it a wig?)
- Campus shooting this morning, 1 dead
- 71 suffocated victims found in an abandoned truck that could possibly be coming from the Middle East
- US Population reached 1 billion in 1804, then hit 2 billion in 1927. The population increase is due to better health and medicine, people are living longer. America reached 3 billion in 1959. In 1974, we reached 4 billion. 1987, 5 billion. Then 12 years later, we reached 6 billion and 12 years after that, 7 billion. The population is projected to reach 9.8 billion by 2050.
- The average income per person worldwide is $15,030.
- The average income per person in a developed country is $39,020.
- The average income per person in the least developed countries is $2,270.
- A developed country has good healthcare system, a good military, a diverse economy (lots of job opportunities), a good education system, strong infrastructure (transportation and communication networks). If you are a developing country, you are lacking these things.
