Siege of Leningrad- siege is a surroundmeny of an area/ city, August 30th 1941, Germans took over Leningrad's railroads, cutting them off from the rest of Russia and the world. Between November 1941 and October 1942, 641,000 people died of starvation, people resorted to eating rats, wallpaper paste and some resprted to cannibalism, A successful Rusian counter-offensive at Stalingrad forced the Germans to move troops there and eventually, the siege failed, The Germans never took Leningrad, was very very costly.
The North Africa Campaign: June,1940-May,1943- British Gen. Bernard Montgomery(Monty), German Gen. Erwin Rommel (The Desert Fox). Operation Torch-US and British forces invade North Africa, May, 1943, Axis forces surrendered in North Africa, Campaign was now on to Italy,
Churchill called Italy the soft underbelly of Europe- The Allies weren't strong enough to take over Germany, but we could fight the soft underbelly. The Allies Liberate Rome- June 5th, 1944. Italy were free in February.
The Atlantic Wall- was a wall of defenses stretching from France to Norway- made the invasion of Western Europe hard for the Allies.
D-Day-(Operation Overlord)- June 6th, 1944- Omaha, Utah, Gold, Juno, Sword, Mormandy Landing was June 6th 1944.
July 20th, 1944 Assassination Plot-Major Claus von Stauffenberg was the guy who planned- they planned to kill Hitler with a bomb, but Hitler got lucky,and ended up surviving.
Liberation of Paris- August 25, 1944
The Battle of the Bulge- Hitler's last Offensive, it was a complete failier, but we lost the most people in this battle, We were not prepared for this kind of Offensive.

Hitler Commits Suicide April 30, 1945, Mr. Mrs. Hitler Killed themselves, they took poisining, and shot him and hsi wife, they ordered the Germans to burn his body so the Russians couldn't get ahold of it, V-E day (May 8th 1945).

Lebensborn-Fount of LIfe- HItler wanted as many to have as many Aryan babies as possible, houses were set up throughout Germany and many occupied territories. Women volunteered to go to these houses.

Nuremburg laws-1935, Took away German citizenship from Jews thus making Jews second class citizens, De fined the Jewish race as being anyone who considered themselves Jewish or had three of four Jewish Grandparents, Jews could only marry Jews, no sexual relations between non-Jewish Germans and Jews
1936- Nazi boycott Jewish-owned businesses, 1938- "Night of the Broken Glass", November 9th and 10th 1938, Nazis roamed through the neighborhood and broke windows on Businesses, homes, and synagogues and lootings. Jews were physically attacked and beaten and 91 died in the attack.
Friday-
1938- All jewish children are expelled from public schools in Germany and Austria, Nazis take control of Jewish-owned businesses
1939-Jews were required to wear armbands or yellow stars
1940- Nazis started to seperate the Jews into the ghettos that way the general population didn't realize what would happen to the Jews
1941-Jews were forced to Death camps. Death camps started to become more of a thing. Germany thought that shooting the Jews was a waste of bullets.
1942-Hitlers "Final Solution" was to kill all 9 million Jews, and he ended up killing 6 million Jews.
1943-Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto resist as the Nazis begin new rounds of deportation, these Jews hold out for newarly a month before the Naizs put down the uprising
1945- Hitler is defeated and WWII ends in Europe, The Holocasut was over and the concentration camps are emptied, Many surviviors are placed in displaced persons camps until they find a country willing to accept them.
Displaced Persons Camps- 850,000 poeple lived in Displaced Person camps across Europe, They would live in these camps until a country would take them,
Israel was made for the Jews to live in. It was known as the Jewish homeland
