  • The Colombian exchange- Trade of goods between Eurasia and the new world. This brought diseases.
  • Revolutionary war- America leaving Britain
  • War of 1812- U.S. goes to war with Britain
  • General Andrew Jackson- attacked the British after a peace treaty.  
  • Civil War- a fight against the states for the f
  • Thomas Jefferson's presidency- Louisiana Purchase, Lewis and Clark

Jakes Group-

  • Civil War- Started by Slavery? Had the most casualties of any war. 
  • French indian war- battle between France and England. France and England wanted more of North America
  • England won the war. 
  • Battle of Gettysburg- Most important battle of the civil war
  • General Lee ordered the union to attack the Confederates with a 15,000 troop disadvantage. 
  • Revolutionary War- started in 1778- War of independence. Positive to the US because it was closer to independence
  • George Washington - general of 13 colonies.

  • Bering sea Land bridge- Native people followed animals to north america. 
  • Brought Native Americans 
  • Indians fought us traveling west 
  • American Revolution- 4,000 deaths- 13 colonies fought for independence- didn;t want British in charge of them. Key people- George Washington
  • Free from Britain rule, Lower taxes, American death. 
  • Industrial Revolution- Between teh 18th and 19th centuries
  • Making things by machines, make things faster
  • Important people-James Watt, Eli Whitney, Henry Ford
  • Positives- make things cheaper and faster
  • Negatives- needed more slaves to help get things done 
  • Gold Rush- Thousands of people came to the US to search for gold. James Sutter- 1st man to find gold in California. Gold seekers were called 49ers. 
  • Hundreds of towns were created because of this
  • Positives- Helped the economy, laid foundation for future settlers, 
  • Negatives- Greed and Ghost towns. 
  • Civil War- South wanted slaves- north didnt
  • Fights broke out 
  • Positive- america came back together

  • Key people- Christopher Columbus and Rodrigo de Triana

  • Stated we were free from Britain
  • Important people- Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Roger Sherman, Robert livingston, Benjamin Franklin

  • Called pilgrims
  • Near Cape cod Massachusetts

  • Positive- Government and independence from religious persecution

  • Supreme law of the U.S.

  • Mexico believed that we invaded them 
  • We believed they invaded us
  • Mexican Cession- California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado
