Amendment 1-4

1- Protects freedom of speech, religion, petition the government, press, assemble peacefully. Ratified September 25, 1789. It protects who we are and gives us choices and beliefs. Controversy- Freedom of speech controversy, Washington Redskins- Lost their trademark on it. 

2- Protect ourselves by being able to keep and use guns in self defense and in war. Ratified September 25, 1789. Keep our country safe from threats to our lives(Also used for hunting). Sandy Hook- Obama put 25 restrictions on the 2nd amendment. More depth in background searches, difficulty to purchase and use firearms. 

3- No soldier can barge into someones house without their consent. Ratified- September 25, 1789. Shows respect to other countries and their people's belongings. 

4- Protects us from having things searched and taken from us without good reason. Ratified- September 25, 1789 Keeps every U.S. citizen their dignity and privacy from the police and other higher authorities. Newer technology cannot be searched without warrant.
