4. What did the US government/military do to to ensure another attack did not occur? All planes had to land, that all planes that are still up in the sky and were not talking would be shot down, and not planes were to go up
5. Why was President Bush sent to Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha? Because there was a secure bunker
6. Why did President Bush eventually insist on going back to Washington D.C. later that day against the will of the Secret Service? He wanted to be home and show that the terrorist that America is still strong.

Tuesday 9/16/14 -
CIA is a group that spies and was made after WWII. A man was in the CIA and with ISIS and left ISIS and now is getting threats from ISIS.
Why did they attack us?
U.S. had forces in the Middle East and bin Laden did not like it. Bin Laden didn't like us invading their holy land so that is the main reason why he attacked the U.S. They also didn't like us because we were alias with Israel. Economic Sanctions- do not trade or do business with other countries to stop things.
Impact of 9/11
1.) Airlines were shut down for several days. More security. 2.) The economy went bad 3.) many tv shows were off

Impact of 9/11 4.)chronic issues from the dust and debre and post dramatic stress disorder 5.) People became more depressed 6.) we got into a decade war in Afghanistan. 7.) People didn't send their kids to school 8.) lots of people lost their jobs 9.) gas and oil prices went up. The price went up because oil came from over their. 10.) National parks and landmarks were closed from awhile 11.) Patriotism increased greatly

Thursday 9/18/14
There is a possible chance that the US will airstrike ISIS.
There is waterboarding at Guantanamo Bay and Obama stopped it.
Department of Homeland Security was set up after 9/11. Patriot Act was passed after 9/11 it allowed all of the spying and bugging phones and computers.
Bush Doctrine-US had the right to secure itself against countries that harbor or give aid to terrorist groups. United States should deposed foreign governments that represented a potential threat to the security of the United States. Encourage democracy around the world, especially in the Middle East as a strategy for combating terrorism.
al-Qaeda history
al-Qaeda means the base. The soviet union invaded and in war in the middle east. They started because they wanted to get the soviets out of the Middle East. It stared in 1988 Osama bin Laden was the leader of the organization. They didn't like us because we went into their country. In the 1990's was a lot of al-Qaeda attacks. Over the Middle East.

Friday 9/19/14
UK
England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland. Scotland asked to leave the UK but the vote said to stay in the UK. There is a lot of oil in the North Sea which belongs to Scotland. After WWII Ireland left the UK but Northern Ireland stayed with the UK.
US in the middle East
Israel was a Jewish place while everyone around was Muslim and they didn't like them there.
US support of Israel-Palestinians.
US vs. Afghanistan- It is a country that is always at war. (Taliban, al Qaeda) Taliban was the government that let al Qaeda train in Afghanistan. We have been at war with them since 2001 when 9/11 happened.
US vs. Iraq(ISIS) in the 1980's Iraq and Iran were at war because Sunni vs Shia were Islamic and they they always go to war because they don't like each other. We helped Iraq against Iran. The leader of Iran in 1988 gassed his people and he was later hung for his punishment. We helped the Kuwait country free from Iraq. WMD- weapons of mass distruction. Because of this we invaded Iraq and then left in 2011. Now we are going back to war in Iraq against ISIS but not on ground.
US vs. Syria is in the middle of everything that is happening over in the Middle East. It is very strict over there in Syria we don't like the Government and ISIS. The government attacked people if they protested.
