Tuesday- Worked on Presentation for Late 1800's to early 1900's
Wednesday- Went over outline with mr. bruns who answers any questions we had and gave us some advice
Thursday- listened to presentations (Kara's group)
Describe native american culture- They are very spiritual people and live off the land best as possible. Everyone in there tribe has a job. The woman clean the game and make clothing. the men hunt and collect food.
Why did settlers move to the great plains- The gold rush, land, cattle ranching, railroads, adventure, escape problems in the east.
How did the US gov't deal with Native Americans in the mid to late 1800's? What were their policies? They had multiple massacres killing woman and children all over Indians land. They pretty well tried to exterminate the Indians. When people moved to the black hills for gold war broke out.
Describe a cowboy's life- highly influenced by Spanish cowboys. they learned everything from mexico and used horses for work. they herded Texas long horns which are sturdy short tempered cows. branded cows and took 3 month long drives. slept on ground and bathed in rivers. risked there lives with cows everyday, crossing rivers, stampedes.

Really dry and hard to make houses with no wood so they built houses underground
