They wanted a 20% raise, a 9 hour work day, and the right to organize a union

Road regulation-
Interstate commerce act, it prohibited wealthy railroad owners from colluding to fix high price by dividing the business in a given area
They could not change rates without notifying the public
Trust busting
Many trust lowered their prices to drive out competitors
