Bruns continued his slideshow today.

Hitler’s dad would beat him and he did really badly in school. He didn’t like school and he was picked on. He didn’t really have any friends. He didn’t like school but he really like art. He tried to get into and art school in Vienna, Austria but he didn’t get in. When he didn’t get in he stayed in the streets of Vienna and made paintings and sold them. They were really good pictures. People think that he got his hatred of Jews from the time when he was in Vienna. He grew up with a lot of failures. The first time he felt like he actually belonged was in the war. After WWI he got involved in the Nazi party. He found out that he had very good speaking skills. He was able to speak and make them listen to him and get them to do what he wants. He rose through the ranks of the Nazi party. He eventually became the leader. The Nazi Party was trying to overthrow the Weimar Republic. He was not able to take them over and he was thrown in prison. While he was in prison he wrote a book about his struggles and his hatred of the Jews. He blamed them for everything that happened. The Jews were the ones who signed the Treaty; they were the ones that made them lose their land.

Propaganda is what really made all the Germans believe in what Hitler wanted because there was so much talk about it. They were kind of brainwashed into believing that what the Nazi’s were doing was right and they were like perfect. Hitler wanted to go after the uneducated people because they didn’t know anything. The people that Hitler was afraid of were the smart people because they know what’s really happening. He was very good at making people believe what he was saying and that the Jews were wrong. The unintelligent people were like ‘oh my gosh, he is so right,’ but the smarter people were like ‘this guy is crazy.’ Most of them who didn’t believe Hitler were killed.

Joseph Stalin was 5’’3’ and that is very short for a man but he still got a lot of respect. He was a dictator and he killed about 20 million people. The Kellogg-Brand Pact outlawed war. There were tons of countries that signed it. It didn’t last very long. Four years later Japan was in war and they signed the Pact. The 20’s was all about making WWI the war to end all wars. Japan invaded Manchuria to get more resources. They wanted to take over and make them give Japan the resources. Manchuria had all of the things that they needed, so they invaded. Because of the Great Depression, Japan had very few resources because the U.S. had high tariffs so they couldn’t trade with us.
