Today, the first thing we did was finish up Becca and Justice's presentation. Their topic is deforestation and the questions we need to answer are as follows; Causes/Effects? Whats being done to slow it down? Where in the world is this majorly affecting? Some of these were answered yesterday though..There is a fund called the WWF which stands for world wildlife fund. This fund targets what's happening to the forests and trying to make the situation better.Some causes=expansion of agriculture, logging, mining, expansion of industry, and poverty. Poverty is the root cause of deforestation.Things we can do to stop deforestation! Recycle,, be more conscious of what we buy and throw away, and the government could pass more laws that would help stop deforestation. You can donate money to funds or just get involved with something. 50000 species of plants and animals become extinct every year due to deforestation.Effects of deforestation=land degradtion, severe soil erosion, and loss of earths biodiversity.Then we discussed our free choice blogs from last week. I did mine on college tuition going up.. again. Taylor's was about an astronaut whose baby was born while he was in space. He is the 2nd person ever to have a baby while he was in space.Jena did hers on the lady who got attacked by a chimpanze. Her friend had a chimp and she visited often and it was fine the other times she had visited, but this time, he was on XANX for lyme disease, and he totally freaked out and like ripped her face off and bit some of her fingers off.Max did his on the indonesian ferry sinking. There are still some people that they think haven't been found..):
