FRANCE; they aimed to get france free from germany. joined great britain. signed munich pact. declared war on 1939, surrendered 1940. germans occupied til 1944. 350,000 soldiers died. damaged by the war greatly. the leader, Charles de Gaulle. marshall plan,made sure communism would not go into countries, u.s. gave money. germany focused on offense. france focused most on defence and thats what really hurt them.
CHINA, didnt sign the treaty. instead signed a different treaty with germany. was a monarchy, turned republic. leaders; communist party. mao zedong and chaing kaishek. goals; two major powers, nationalist andcommunist, fought back and forth. didnt really have war goals. stayedin their own country. we helped them out a lot. went to communism in1948. japs attacked chinese terribly.
