The Lend Lease Act was passed by the Congress on March 11, 1941. This gave President Franklin Rooselvelt the power to sell, exchange, transfer, lend equipment to any country to any country to help it defend itself against the Axis Powers.The money went to 38 diffrent countries that sum up to $50 billion with britian having $31 billion. So over the next few years the British Government ended up paying back $650 million of this sum.
The U boats were undersea boat which are submarines used by the Germans in WWl and WWll for commerce raiding.Their target was the merchant convoys bring supplies from British Empire and United States to the islands of Great Britain.
