China

1. How did the Treaty of Versailles impact them?

China wanted to get land back but it went to Japan. They did not sign the treaty.


2. What type(s) of government did this country have in the interwar years(1919-1938)?

A monarchy to a Republic


3. How did their leader, that led them throughout WWII, come to power?

Mao Bigdong lead China's Communist Party became leader after war. Chiang Kai-shek led Nationalistic Party of China led through out the war.


4. How did this leader change their country(for the better and worse) prior to WWII?

5. What were the goals of the leader?

Try and dominate political party in China.
6. What was the military strategy of this country in the inter-war years(1919-1938)?

The were just defenses. They didn't really have any. They were at a civil war the whole time.
7. What role did they play in WWII?

They were first invaded by Japan and they never left their home country. Japan took over some land until America bombed Japan and then China won it.
8. Who were their allies in WWII?

Great Britain, France, Soviet Union, USA, Canada, Poland, Australia, these are just a few. They were angry because they never got people from the other countries to come over they just gave china money.
9. How did WWII impact/effect the country?
China went to a communism in 1948. Japan devasted China with air raids, mass murders, rape, and some what of a genocide.

They got a lot of land and money from Germany, but they thought that they should have got more

The Free French Underground. The Vichy Government. Republic, somewhat democracy

Charles de Gaulle-- Leader of Free French Forces
4. How did this leader change their country(for the better and worse) prior to WWII?

The government changed every few months. He did everything he could to get france back on their feet.

6. What was the military strategy of this country in the inter-war years(1919-1938)?

They did things to make themselves feel safe and secure. For example they build a barrier. It had machine guns, train systems and hospitals. They figured that Germany wouldn't be able to get through it. When Germany was going to invaded they went around this and up through Belgum. This became completely worthless in France.
7. What role did they play in WWII?

They joined Britain. They signed the Munich Pact.
8. Who were their allies in WWII?

U.S., Britain, USSR, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Greece...
9. How did WWII impact/effect the country?
They were hit hard economically. They lost alot of people. Their cities were destroyed. They went down a lot of hard as how powerful they were.
