Today we continued our blog discussions..Zach Osborn talked about social security and who it benifited.(kids, people that had been in accidents, ext..) this is still around today. Jenna talked about Dorothia Lange, when she was younger she had polio and became inspired by taking pictures especially during the great depression because it captued how people really felt. She then worked for the FSA. She took pictures on the street instead of a studio with the purpose of letting people know about the tough times the farmers faced and to ultimately help them.Nick talked about the Social Security Act. There were three major parts. People over the age of 65 and handicap people or families with disabled children.April talked about Elanor Roosevelt. Her father was an alcoholic and her mother was one of the most beautiful girls in the area. She wasn't the most pretty girl. Her mother died young and she lived with her father and he left two years after that. She married FDR and he had an affair. She stood with him and he developed polio so she was basically the eyes and ears of FDR.After we were done with blog discussions Mr. Bruns went over what he wants on our New Deal Presentations and what the New Deal Unit test would be mainly focused on.
