Today we continued our discussions on Democrats vs. Republicans.Our topics were environmental laws, affirmative action laws, immigration, and minimum wage. I'm finding out that, like my test, I have a mixture of being a republican and a democrat. I'm half and half when it comes to enviornment, I don't want to see people drill into Alaska and destroy the animals homes, but we do really need the oil. When it comes to the affirmative action laws, I'm on the Republican's side, we are in a time now that we can get rid of the law and be able to trust people not to hire certain people over others just because of their race. When it comes to immigration, I do think that it would be nice to do what the Democrats want; to allow certain immigrants to be an american citizen, but they have to pay a fee and learn English, but then I think that over time America could get over populated. Lastly I think that minimum wage could rase a little, or stay the same. If it does rase, then most of the companies with a lot of workers would have to fire people or raise the cost of items they give out, then over time eventually the minimum wage would have to raise again, to keep up with the prices raising.
