Today we continued presentations.

Rural Electrification and Administration Act

-It was passed May 11, 1935

-it brought power to the rural areas and farms

-it also gave them water

-it was successful

Music of the 1930’s

-the radio came in the early 1900’s

-jazz was influential to the great depression

-Louis Armstrong was a jazz musician

-the radio saved money so people didn’t have to go to concerts

-most jazz singers were African American

United States Housing Authority

-an agency designed to lend money to states or communities for low cost construction

-1937 is when it was created

-they thought it would make a change in their social behaviors

-it set a difference between people who actually needed homes and people who were just too lazy to buy one

Games of the 1930’s

-Johnny on a pony

-stoop ball

-stickball

-monopoly

-garden golf

Home Owners Loan Corporations

-in 1933 it helped people keep their homes

-it gave money back to the government

-it was successful

-it prevented foreclosure

-it extended loan periods

-a lot of people could refinance their homes

Woman’s Fashion

-people did their hair in perms so it stayed up

-they wore lots of sequins to make it more fun

Men’s Fashion

-they wore long colors

-they wore hats
