When too many children die, the population increases. The more children a family has, the more security they have that their children will survive and be able to take care of them. 1 out of every 5 children die before the age of 5. Food is scarce in the third world countries. Many families wish that they had less kids, but they didn't have access to contraceptives. Gov'ts have waited too long to find a solution to overpopulation. Some countries resorted to sterilization by force. Sterilizations are done really quickly in camps that are set up. A lot of the time, women suffer from unsterile equipment use, internal bleeding, and all that. Lots of communities are built on trash heaps, where villagers scavenge through the trash to make a living. Catholics believe that artificial contraception is a sin.
