Well the good news first. There is no assigned blog for this week. The bad news. I have to work on my cold war project and now we are starting with presentations again.
VE day. May 8, 1945. By this time we got complete air contorl over Europe. This eventtually led up to the D-Day Invastion. The Soviets attack Germany and start gaining land on them. On April 30th Hitler commited sucide and the new Nazi leader agreed to surrender.
VJ Day. The Soviet Union entered the war and promised aid to Japan after the first atomic bomb was droped on them. Three days later we dropped another bomb on them and then on the 14th they aggred to surrender among the USS Missouri.
Why the Allies won WW2. Germany and China, the main Axis Powers, just couldnt handle us. We just had way better technology including the atomic bombs and we made a lot of our own supplies. Germany made a lot of mistakes and had very weak defense tatics.
Effects of WW2. The American Economy was greatly simulated. The United States was confident and much of Europe had to rebuild from the war. The United Nations was created inplace of the Leauge of Nations. Germany was completely destroyed and was split up into four differant sections. Obviously Japan was in the process of rebuilding after the two atomic bombs droped on them.
