Hamilton thought that the upper class people should be in charge of it. Jefferson believed more in farmers and small governments.Thomas Jefferson- Third president. Best known for the Louisiana Purchase from the French of $15 million, which doubled the size of the U.S. He believed in smaller government and a strong agricultural systemPresident Jackson- Seventh president, good president for some people. He organized the "Trail of Tears", about 4,000 people died during the walk there. The Indians were being forced to what is now Oklahoma, and were forced from their homes in Georgia. About 7,000 troops were sent to get them out. He didn't have a very strong education; he was born poor, but was good at politics.Gaining land- Jefferson doubled the size of the U.S. with the Louisiana purchase from the French, Florida from Spain, Texas won from Mexico, Oregon Territory by treaty, most of southwest states, took Hawaii, bought Alaska from Russia.-Breann Lehr
