Today I continued to research for the project. The Government started to ration supplies because a lot of things were in short supply during World War II. This site, http://www.ameshistoricalsociety.org/exhibits/events/rationing.htm talks about rationing. The only way to make sure people got their fair share was to rations supplies. Japan seized American plantations in the Pacific that produced 90% of the United States Rubber. Over 8000 rationing boards were created all over the country that created new jobs. A lot of food products were also rationed such as sugar and coffee. People sacrificed so the people over seas could have what they needed during the war.
