today in class we are going over assign blogs.
1) Describe native american cultures before and after the arrival of europeans?
before:
they didnt try to mess with the land, didnt have technolgy, no guns, didnt waste anything, each had different languages, most were nomatic, some didnt it depended on what they did for food.
after:
more into guns, forced out of there habitates, forced into certain places in the land, didnt have bufflo because eurpeans were killing they off. many died because of dieases and wars with each other. had to change religions and languges.
2) Describe reasons why europeans started exploring in the late 1400's. and y did they settle in america?
A) started because they were going to asia for spices and silks and they were looking for a cheaper and shorter way to go to asia. they were trying to get more money and power. better technolgy.
B) they settled because they were trying to get furs, own religion, make money, escape dept, adventure, farming, and europeans were the only ones to know that it wasnt flat earth.
3) List major countries and some main explorers and where they settled.
1) portugal- prince henry the navigator, masgo de gama. 1st country to start exploring. africa settled in in brazil
2) Spain- majellin 1st person to sail around the world. he accually died on the trip but his ship did. Christpher Cloubus. explored new world. caribean, cuba. strated slave trade. 1st ppl to comite jeanside. killed off all airwalk indeans. raped women and children. stole from the indieans. cortez explored spain. settled in centeral and south america, also florida
3) Dutch-settled in new york area
4) england- settled in canada and eastern seabord.
5) france- settled in canada and mississippi river.
