The questions that we answered today are...What caused all this corruption in government?I learned that patronage (spoils system) caused all of the corruption in the government. I learned that other things that caused corruption included a lack of laws and poor presidential leaders, greed, and dishonest individuals.What laws came about to reform government?Pendleton Civil Service Act- I learned that it was an act that required that government officials had to pass a literacy test, to be able to hold the office, make sure they were qualified to hold the job.Ulysses S. Grant, Rutherford B. Hayes, James Garfield, Chester Arthur, Grover Cleveland, Benjamin Harrison, Grover Cleveland and William Mckinley were all presidents during the late 1800's.
