Today we had blog discussion we talked about the Treaty of Versailles. It was the treaty that ended World War I. The big four that made up the Allied powers were Italy, United States, Great Britain, and France. The treaty had many effects on the territory, economy, and military of Germany.
Germany's size was reduced by by almost 13 percent. They also lost all of their Pacific colonies. Their colonies in Africa were given to Great Britain and France. The economy was also hit hard. Germany had to take responsibility for starting the war and had to pay to have everything rebuilt. This totaled around 33 billion dollars. The military was reduced to 100,000 men. They could not have any tanks, airforce, or submarines. Rhineland had to be a demilitarized zone. We will continue this blog discussion tomorrow.
