AAA controlled the supply of seven "basic Crops"
Farmers couldn't refuse the money because they were in such a bad time.
In 1936 the AA was declared uncondtitutional.
The court case was United States v. butler
Many judges thought it was illegal to levy a tax on one group, in order to pay it to others
The AAA 1938
Roosevelt signed a new aaa on Feb. 16, 1938.
made price support mandatory for corn, cotton and wheat.
The Judiciary Reorganization bill of 1937.
Proposed by Franklin D. Roosevelt
Would give him the power to assign an extra Supreme Court Justice.
There was a big fight about the bill.
Many people thought this would give him control of the supreme Court.
This never got past.
