Today is wed. another day in paradise eh. We have no blog assignment this week so that’s some good news. Today we are going to try and finish up presentations. We are going to start cold war projects end of next week. It is taking a little while for the power points to get loaded. Seeing as how our internet connection is so great in this school.
V day stands for victory in europe. Events in europe were air warefare in favor. The soviets were forced to surrender of romania, finland, and bulgaria. The fall of germany was in april 25 at saxony in torgau. April 30 hitler shot himself and karl donitz left in power. Germany signed treaty on may 7 in france. To accept unconditional surrender is to basically lose everything. USSR promised to go in with us at the yalta conference. We dropped two bombs on japan. One on august 6 1945 which was our first one on hiroshima and the second on august 9 1945 on nagasaki. The end of the war came upon japan on august 14 1945. Formally signed on september 2 on the US battleship missouri in tokyo bay. And that wraps up hannah’s presentation. Next is bre and micheala. With the presentation of why the allies won.
Why we won. A big reason why we won was because our industries were so diverse and we manufactured many items. America proved a lot of help to other countries. We wanted to stop communism. Obviously we were mad about Pearl Harbor. Great britian just kept going like the energizer bunny. China and soviet had mass size and soviets winter. Germany made mistakes. Italy burned a lot of germany. Pearl harbor was convinced to be the back door into the war. Thankfully no land was taken in our own country which helped us keep manufacturing and women took many jobs in the factories. Great britian had the royal airforce which helped them a lot. They grew a lot stronger together. China and soviet union. Soviets had a harsh winter which allowed them to strike back because they were prepared for winter and germany wasn’t. germany made the mistake of fighting a two sided war. And also they kicked out the scientists which the scientist then came to america and helped us out. ,
