The VRA or the Voting Rights Act of 1965 was made to help the Native-Americans have the right to vote. It is also said that the act established an extensive federal oversightof elections such as administration, providing that states with a history of discriminatory voting practices that are so-called covered jurisdictions and that they could not change voting without having the approval a proccess known as pre-clearence. It is also said that the VRA was a good program and the VRA did help the Native-Americans get their rights to vote for presidents and things like that. In the 1960's the Senator and the House of Representitives declared that the Act would be called the " Voting Rights Act of 1965". To assure that the rights of any citizen that votes would not be denied the congress made sure that they were in the voting booths at the time to vote.
