U.S. Involvement in WWII

I'm going to do my "interesting thing from our project" blog on the role that America played in the war. Even before the war started the U.S. was giving supplies to other countries which already made us a part of the war. The U.S. was in isolationism, but war was going to happen. Then on December 7, 1941 Japan hit Pearl Harbor hard. Luckily there weren't any air craft carriers there and some of the ships were able to be repaired so that they could still be used. On December 8 Congress let us into the war; Germany and Italy then declared war on us. This is the start of America's involvement in WWII as an allied power.

The U.S. was involved with the invasions of Japan, Germany, and Italy. We also took over Pacific Islands from Japan, gave money and later supplies to the Soviet Union for their fight with Germany, and the tables started turning once we were involved in the war. Pearl Harbor definately did wake the sleeping giant.
