Today we continued on our presentations. Well we were going to do our presentations but the internet was being really slow and not working. So Bruns showed us his presentation instead.

How did the New Deal help:

farmers-The Soil Conservation and Domestic Allotment Act was made to help farmers by helping with the erosion of soil. The dust bowl was terrible and it was making all the crops get ruined. This organization was teaching the farmers about how to care for the soil.

banks/business-The FDIC would insure peoples money in the banks.

FDR’s Brain Trust- It was like a monopoly. He had a monopoly of the smartest people in the world. He said he wasn’t that smart but he was smart enough to know that he needed to have smart people around him.

Charles Coughlin used the radio to reach out to a large audience. He had a ton of listeners. He would protest about things like the New Deal and he was criticizing it because he thought that FDR wasn’t doing enough to help the people.
