Today in U.S. History we discussed what we wrote about for our free choice blogs. I learned that the first rubber soles in shoes developed in 1980. Before that they only used leather soles. I think that would be very, very uncomfortable.Another thing I learned what that the computer was thought of a difference engine at first. In 1882 the computer was cranked by a handle. It makes me think how glad I am that the computers we have today are the way they are.I also leasrned that the donut was developed in the 1800's. They originally called them Oily Cakes. They were developed as a pastry like they still are today. I love donuts so I'm glad that they came up with them the way they did!
