Today in CWI, we continued our class debate. We began with immigration. Republicans think that we should have stricter laws for illegal immigration. They want to know the identity of everyone that comes over the border to protect from terrorists. Democrats think that we can't continue to let anyone come into the country, like unchecked, etc. There is a lot of agreement on this subject between the Democrats and Republicans. We both agree that we cannot keep letting illegal immigrants into our country and think we need to continue protecting the borders. Democrats think we should use amnisty for the ones who are already here. This means to forgive them, but make them go through a procedure to become a US citizen. We added our thoughts and opinions on that topic.The next topic was minimum wage. Democrats think it should stay the same or get a little higher. Republicans think that it will cause more unemployment. Fast food restaurants are having to lay people off and raise the price because of the price they have to pay. I think that it is a good idea, because otherwise you have no idea how much you will get paid a week. We will continue the blog tomorrow.
