One plane hit the Pentagon. and one crashed in PA, was supposed to fly into the Capital Building or White House. George W. Bush was in Florida reading books to children at an elementary school. Al-Qaeda was the group that was behind all of this. About 65 people died from the plane that flew into the Pentagon. Flight 93 passengers called their family members that told them that other hijackings have taken place, so they tried to overtake the hijacker. All the passengers died in that plane. Country came together, and Bush had a high approval rating.TalibanCame to power in 1996 and went out in 2001. They were the gov't of Afghanistan. They had different beliefs on how they treated women. The women had to be completely covered, except their eyes. Women could not leave their home without a close male relative. They had to work from home, and girls could not attend school. Taliban is gaining power again, and are in an alliance with Al-Qaeda. Omar is their current leader.
