Today in class I learned that Andrew Carnegie was a Scottish immigrant. He grew up in a very poor family and over time invested in stocks and became very wealthy. His major industry was in steel. Carnegie Steel was the name of his steel. Many people looked up to him. Some people didn't really like him because he would always be driving people out of business.John D. Rockefeller was also born into a very poor family. Over time he became the richest person in the world. He made his fortune on oil. His company name was Standard Oil. His family is still very wealthy to this day.I think that it is kind of inspiring that these people came from very poor families and became some of the richest people in the world. They did this because of their hard work. I don't think that it was very nice of them to try and run people out of business though.
