Today we continued presentations and blog discussion. Lidnesy did hers on a machine that is to recreate the big bang theory in a smaller level. that was really interesting. some people are worrying about how it could kill everyone on earth. That is really scary! Nothing big will happen until 2010 but that is next year.Stacie and tony went. There topic was species extinction. Things that cause it are hunters climate change, not having food, genetic factors, over populations and many more reasons. some animals in danger of becoming of extinct are Gazelles from Africa and Asia The Giant Panda from Asia, Bald Eagle from North America. The Siamese Crocs are becoming in danger of becoming in danger of extinction. That sounds kinda weird.Their PowerPoint was good. Th coral reefs are dieing around the world and the oceans are becoming acidic which effect the coral reefs which kills them. That effects the plankton and starts a chain reaction and the oceans will have like no fish. That wouldn't be good, Its not good for the world at all.Payton Liz and Megan's group went next. Their topic was deforestation. Deforestation is removing trees from an area of land. If you take the trees away the top soil will get washed away. With no trees there will be no rain which will cause climate change. We should care because we take away animals habitats and they will be homeless and will most likely die:(. that is sad. It changes the scenery and we will have less air. Some causes are like wild fires (on accident or on purpose) mining too. Farming causes some and so does commercial logging and construction, There are a lot of things that cause Deforestation. It scares me what will happen if like say all the trees are gone... there would be no air and we would most likely die. Thats not right. The logging industries cause the most damage. when they want one tree they cut down all of the trees until they get to the tree they want. That is so not right that takes forever to grow one tree and they cut down 100 trees and do not use them just because it is faster that is so not right! they should only cut down what needs to be cut down. Reduce Reuse and Recycle. That is a good way to stop deforestation but its not the only way.
