Today in CWI, we watched this video about this guy named Thomas Friedman who wrote a book. It was pretty long.He talked about when he was in India and the interviews he did and what they made him realize. While he was talking with this one particular guy, he said that the “global economic playing field is being leveled.”He took three months leave from the New York Times while writing his best seller, “The World is Flat.” The book starts out talking about Columbus trying to find a shorter route to India and found the world is round. Basically what he’s talking about in his book is globalization and how it has changed and how it will change in the future. He said he thinks that the difference between the first two eras and now is that white people most likely will not be leading it. It will be people on all difference races.Something that we should really be worried about is our future jobs. Because the kids from other countries like India and China work for cheaper and a lot of them are smarter and have higher education, if more companies globalize, "our" jobs will probably not be there. There's a lot more competition and the effects could be devastating for Americans.
