Korea
The Korean conflict started 1950. North invaded south. They went back and forth. Eventually there was a settlement. Both agreed to stop fighting. US still have a lot of troops over there.
Vietnam Conflict
1950-1975. France used to control it. Ho Chi Minh was dressed as a peasant but was very well educated and very rich. In 1918, he asked for independence. Independence is all he wanted. Communist international. During WW2 he found his way home to Vietnam. After WW2, he still wanted independence from France. In 1950, he defeated France. Vietnam was not completely independent after the war. The United States and other countries did not want to give Vietnam their independence because they were communist. Ngo Dinh Diem was French educated and catholic. Vietnam was like 99 percent Buddhist. Very quickly the people decided that they should not have elected him because he was mean to the Buddhist and peasants. Vietnam War was fought with the United States Armed Forces and the Army of the Republic of Viet Nam against the NLF which was a group of South Vietnamese guerilla fighters and The People’s Army of Viet Nam.
