Today is Tuesday and we only have one more Tuesday of the school year. That means we only have about a week left of blogging and that is something that I will be glad to give up during the summer. Speaking of summer, we are continueing with presentations on the Cold War. The Berlin Wall began as a wire fence. As more and more time went on, the wall was enforced with concrete, tanks, gun turrets, and guards, and it became a very formmidable barrier that created East and West Germany. The wall was over 90 miles long.

College students in East Germany dug tunnels usually dug in cemeteries, people made hot air balloons, and people tried just climbing the fence. Climbing the wall was deadly. Riots formed every Monday. November 9, 1989, people began to try and tear the wall down. On July 1, 1990, East and West Germany were reunited.
