Today Mr. Bruns was gone, so we had a work day to finish up our Africa projects. Rwandan troops invade Congo in 1998 after the Rwandan Genocide. This started a dispute between Zimbabwe, Angola, Uganda, and Namibia. It has been known as the deadliest conflict since World War II. The conflict has left the country of Congo with bad sanitation, disease, mal-nutrition, and dislocation. People in Congo still die today because of the war. Congo is a very dangerous place and has been broken down because of the war. Malemba-Nkulu has 18,000 refugees arrive since last year. These people have run away from their home town’s because of government troop and crazy rebels called the Mai Mai.
