We started off class by doing another write to learn activity. Then we went over the Latin America map and reviewed our blog discussions from yesterday. Mr. Bruns drew us a picture of Iraq on the white board that showed where Kuwait and the Kurds were. He talked about the No-fly Zone which is an area along the borders of Iraq where the Kurds and Kuwait is. The No-fly Zone is a place where Iraq wasn’t aloud to have military. Having that area made sure that Kuwait and Kurds could be protected from Iraq. The Soviet Union flew past the No-fly Zone almost daily to make sure there wasn’t anything militarily going on there. After talking about all of this we continued where we left off on our blog discussions from yesterday. The reason why we’re still fighting in Iraq is because there are so many different ethnic groups there that can’t get along. United Nations have gotten really involved into this war.
