---Today in class we did another WTL quiz. We also did more blog talks
---Saving Private Ryan was about Private Ryan who lost three brothers in the war and they were trying to bring him back home. Captain Miller fights across France to find Private Ryan.
---The Purple Butterfly is about a Japanese schoolgirl that is against Japanese discrimination and how she went through the war.
---Pearl Harbor is about two guys who want to be pilots. They sign up for the war and they are asked to be part of a top secret mission to bomb Tokyo after the attack on Pearl Harbor. They wanted to bomb Japan even though the military that didn’t want to do this but they still did and were captured.
--After this we started doing the WW2 presentations.

1. How did the Treaty of Versailles impact them?
It transferred part of Chinese land to Japan rather than Japan and they signed a separate treaty with Germany
2. What type(s) of government did this country have in the interwar years(1919-1938)?
They had a monarchy with an emperor. It was called the Republic of China.
3. How did their leader, that led them throughout WWII, come to power?
They were led by Mao Zedong and Chaing Kai-shek under the communist party. Chaing Kai-shek was the leader between the war and Mao was the leader that brought communist to them during the war.
4. How did this leader change their country(for the better and worse) prior to WWII?
He fought a civil war with Mao Zedong before the Sino-Japanese war and brought them to the communist side.
5. What were the goals of the leader?
They wanted to have a dominate political party.
6. What was the military strategy of this country in the inter-war years(1919-1938)?
They really just wanted to defend the country from Japan. They were in a civil war and were so weak they weren’t really focused on other wars.
7. What role did they play in WWII?
Japan invaded them in 1937 starting the Second Sino-Japanese war. They were on the defensive side throughout the war. Japan took a lot of their land and China was able to win after we bombed them
8. Who were their allies in WWII?
They were allied with Great Britain, France, USSR, US, Canada, Poland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India and many more of the Allied Powers.
9. How did WWII impact/effect the country?
They became communist during this time. Japan devastated China with all of their air raids, mass murder, and genocide.
