IX. Pearl Harbor

The Phony War or Sitzkrieg- The war where nothing happened. Spring of 1940 Hitler took Demark and Norway

Neutrality Acts- Designed to keep the US neutral and out of wars. In this act the president stated that any country that was in war we wouldn’t trade with them because if we did we would eventually get pulled into the war. The Neutrality Act soon changed into the Cash & Carry (Other countries would have to come here and buy the good in cash and then carry the goods back on the their own ships) it helped Great Britain get the things they needed

Tripartite Pact- Pact where the three axis powers signed together

Winston Churchill- Became prime minister in 1940

Dunkirk- Great Britain soldiers escaped from the German forces because they were told not to enter the town

Germany- Germany took over pretty much all the lands around him. Hitler took over France in one month. Hitler got his revenge in June of 1940
