Today, Mr. Bruns is suppossedly at the hospital going into surgery. He is probably at home, under the blankets with a hot cup of joe playing xbox. Those of us who came to school today however, we had a workday. For just about the whole class period I was unable to get anything done because of connectivity issues with my stupid laptop.
I resigned by using my last little bit of class responding to a few forum posts. I learned about a terrible tragedy involving a murder-suicide that resulted in the murder of great high school kid and members of his family. His mother's ex-boyfriend broke into their home and shot them.
"The U.S. Department of Justice does track homicides involving what it calls intimate partners. The department's most recent report, from 2005, documented more than 1,500 victims, a majority of them female. The figures don't include bystanders or other family members."
Unfortunatley cases similar to this occur every day and we need to work to end domestic violence.
