Great Britain

1. How did the Treaty of Versailles impact them?

GB didn't want Germany to have military equipment or soldiers.


2. What type(s) of government did this country have in the interwar years(1919-1938)?

Constitutional Monarchy- King and Queen. Their power is limited to the constitution.


3. How did their leader, that led them throughout WWII, come to power?

Neville Chamberlain beginning of war then he resigned because people criticized him for signing the Munich Conference. Then Winston Churchill came to power because the people liked him cuz he was the only one that thought they should have been harder on Hitler.


4. How did this leader change their country(for the better and worse) prior to WWII?

He signed the Munich Conference which was worse for their country because it promised that Hitler couldn't annex anywhere else except Sudetenland. This agreement wasn't hard enough on Hitler. Hitler broke the agreement by annexing all of Czechslovakia in March 1939. Hitler, Chamberlain, Daladier, and Mussolini were the ones that signed the conference.


5. What were the goals of the leader?

Chamberlain was trying to do whatever he could to stay out of a war. He was a chicken when it came to war. Chamberlain wanted to appease Hitler and Benito Mussolini. Abolished the Poor Law. Churchill was completely against Nazism. He wanted to defeat Germany.

6. What was the military strategy of this country in the inter-war years(1919-1938)?

Britain's navy guaranteed allies access to the world's oceans. Tried to blockade Germany.


7. What role did they play in WWII?

Stood alone against Germany at first. Then the USSR and US came into the war and joined Great Britain.


8. Who were their allies in WWII?

US, Soviet Union, and France were main ones. Also Australia, Canada, and China and a bunch of other little ones.


9. How did WWII impact/effect the country?

Germany was bombing them every single night and were put into debt by other countries. They got German colonies in Africa. They got money from Germany.
