We are having our map test on Thursday and Friday. We went over the maps. Caribbean island, Central America, and South America are what it is over. We finished our bolg discussion. There is a solar powered yaht. It has two beds and a hot tube along with other things. The price for it has not been decided. We went over Mr. Bruns's power point. The democrats feel that gun control is needed. They want to make it harder for someone to get a gun. The republicans feel that it should be easier to get guns. It is one of our rights to bare arms. Iowa's laws about gun control are you have to have a perment to purchase a handgun bur not a rifle or shotgun. You do not need a permit to carry a shotgun or rifle but you need one to carry a handgun. A person under 21 can not posses a handgun. Democrats want to protect the enviroment. Republicans think environmental laws harm the economy. Democrats are strong anti-discrimination laws are needed. They favor affirmative actions. Republicans think people and businesses can be trusted not to discriminate. They oppose affirmative actions. Affirmative action makes things more equal like jobs and things like that. If a raciest white person will not hire a black bacause he is black this will help the black person get a fair chance. Nebraska got rid of their affirmative acton law. We are starting to get rid of affirmative action laws. this law causes reverse discrimination. Miniumum wadge goes up slowly every year. raising minimum wadge will hurt small buisnesses because they will have to raise prices or lay people off. Graduated income tax is the more you make the more you pay in taxes. 10% is $0-$8025, 15% is $8025- $32,550. 25% $32,550-$78,850, 28% $78,850-$164,550, 33% $164,500- $357,700. The democrats want to tax the wealthy more to pay for public programs.
